TV CAMERAS LOOK BACK

Television cameras will soon be tracing the Fosse Way - the road the Romans marched from Lincoln to Bath: and Newark is likely to be featured in the programme.

The film is already in the advanced planning stage by the ATV today studios in Birmingham, and Lionel Hampden is currently on location for a week, visiting places of historical interest.

He plans to cover the route by horse and carriage-in a phaeton once owned by King Alfonso of Spain.

Mr. Hampden was in Newark on Monday when he saw several places of interest with Mr. Alf Baxter.

It is intended that filming will begin on October 24. It will be several weeks before the programme is screened, but it is expected that a daily episode will be shown over a period of a week.
